Q: 15 passenger van rentals

A: Safety first! California statutes limit 15-passenger vans to personal use only unless the renter and operator of the vehicle hold a valid Class B Driver’s License or the equivalent commercial operator’s license from the state or country in which they reside.

All 15-passenger van renters will receive a copy of the United States Department of Transportation National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s consumer advisory for 15-passenger vans, “Reducing the Risk of Rollover Crashes.” The renter will be asked to sign acknowledging receipt of that advisory.

Midway Car Rental also maintains a fleet of 7 and 8-passenger minivans and SUVs that do not require any special driver’s license.

If you have any questions regarding the rental of 15-passenger vans, please call your selected Midway Car Rental branch office directly and we’ll be happy to help!

Q: What are your Driver’s License Requirements?

An acceptable, valid driver’s license issued from your country of residence must be presented at the time of rental. The driver’s license must be valid for the entire rental period. If the driver’s license is in a language other than English, an International Driver’s Permit is required. In all cases, a valid driver’s license issued from your home country must be provided, whether or not you possess an International Driver’s Permit. You will not be allowed to rent a car with only an International Driver’s Permit. The driver’s license must be in the original form, no copies, and be in the name of the main driver. The credit card must have the same name as the driver’s license.

Q: Will Midway Car Rental accept an expired driver’s license?

Sorry, but no. The renter’s driver’s license must be valid for the entire rental period.

Q: If I leave my license at home can I have a copy faxed to you?

Apologies, but Midway Car Rental cannot accept a faxed license.

Q: Is an International Driver’s License accepted?

Yes – but an International Driving Permit (IDP) on its own is not sufficient.

Your home country’s valid driver’s license is always necessary for rental with Midway Car Rental. An International Driving Permit (IDP) is a translation of your home country’s (other than English language) driver’s license. At the time of rental, you must present your home country’s valid driver’s license and, if you have one, an IDP to assist us in translating it. The IDP, by itself, is insufficient for rental with Midway Car Rental.

We look forward to welcoming you to America!

Q: I don’t have a driver’s license. Can I rent the car and have someone else drive it?

Midway Car Rental will only rent to a non-licensed renter is if the individual is unable to drive due to a disability. Otherwise, you must present a valid license in your name in order to rent from Midway Car Rental.

Q: I am a Midway Car Rental renter and have been involved in an automobile accident. What should I do?

We’re sorry for your troubles! To submit information regarding your accident and related details, please download and complete the Accident/Incident Report, and fax it to (323) 954-5273, or email it to [email protected]

Q: I am not a renter. I was involved in an accident with a Midway Car Rental vehicle. What should I do?

We’re sorry to hear it! To submit information regarding your accident and related details, please download and complete the Claimant Accident Statement, and fax it to (323) 954-5273, or email it to [email protected]

Q: Can you add an additional driver to the rental?

Yes, additional drivers can be added at the counter during the rental process. The added driver must be present with the main driver and have a valid Driver’s License. There is no charge for additional drivers over the age of 25.
If the driver is between 21- 24 years of age, an underage fee will be charged (fee will vary based on the vehicle make/model). There can be a maximum of 3 drivers per vehicle.

Q: I received a parking ticket on the vehicle and I am not to return the rental vehicle until later, what do I do?

Pay the agency now or at least before the due date on the ticket and inform the staff when you return the rental vehicle and/or email [email protected] of the citation and the proof of payment. If you do not pay the agency immediately and our corporate office gets the citation notice, your credit card will get charged for the citation/violation plus an additional $50 admin/processing fee.

Q: The parking citation wasn’t my fault , I need to fight the agency, can you refund my credit card until I win my case?

Inform the staff at the rental counter and/or email [email protected] of the situation prior to starting your administrative review. Most administrative reviews must be received by the agency within 21 calendar days of receiving the citation and in most cases the fine has to be paid to the agency before moving forward to the administrative hearing. When you win your case, send us a copy of the letters, we will contact the agency to issue us a check and when we receive the check we will refund you.

Q: What about Toll Roads/Express lane/Toll Bridges?

Our vehicles are registered with an account through and the account gets charged immediately. Depending on the toll that you traveled on will let us know within 30 days of travel of the violation.

We will charge your card and email you the receipt however with us you have options on how to deal with Toll Roads Charges Please Click Here. if you have further questions please call and leave a message at 323-692-7045 and we will return your call at our earliest convenience.

Q: My credit card was charged for parking citation why didn’t someone from Midway inform me?

Our corporate office receives 1000’s of pieces of mail, they have to get sorted, opened, reviewed, and researched to identify if it is a citation or others. Our terms and conditions state “without prior notification” since it is nearly impossible to reach out to each renter per citation mailed.

In the Greater Los Angeles Area, the city will likely impound the vehicles due to un-paid multiple parking citations thus we do our very best to clear it all up so that current/future renters will not suffer or get inconvenience due to an oversite from our previous customers.
