Kids Wish Network grants a wish with help from outstanding sponsors

WAUSEON, Ohio (MMD Newswire) September 29, 2010 -- With the help of national children's charity Kids Wish Network and some outstanding local sponsors, a local boy was granted his one and only wish.
Dalton is a determined, social 11-year-old boy who is living with not one, but two life-threatening conditions. At just 5-months-old, Dalton was diagnosed with having a selective antibody immune deficiency, and had to have a port installed to receive medication to protect his body from infection. In 2006, he was diagnosed with having type 1 diabetes. He relies on an insulin pump to regulate his glucose levels and must be closely monitored at all times.
Just recently, Dalton was granted a wish through national charity Kids Wish Network. His wish was to travel to California and visit the beaches. While Kids Wish Network was planning his wish and making arrangements for this special moment in Dalton's life, the charity reached out to local Wauseon organizations to see if they wanted to sponsor a portion of Dalton's wish.
Kids Wish Network was lucky to come across some amazing sponsors in the Wauseon area. The American Legion Post 300, American Legion Post 557, Moose Family Center 788-Napolean, St. Caspar Catholic Church and VFW Post 7424 Wauseon Post all contributed to Dalton's wish and played a major role in putting a smile on his face.
Dalton's wish to travel to Laguna Beach, Calif. included surf lessons, a dolphin and whale tour, VIP attendance at the 2010 Hurley Pro surf competition, dinners, accommodations at the amazing Montage Laguna Beach hotel, a rental car, round-trip flights and even spending money. Kids Wish Network also was fortunate enough to come across some awesome sponsors in California who added to Dalton's special experience.
Midway Car Rental in Los Angeles made sure Dalton and his family arrived in style while in Laguna. Amy at K'Ya Bistro, a California restaurant located on the rooftop of the Casa del Camino hotel, pulled out all the stops arranging for Dalton to attend the Hurley Pro and even hang out with some professional surfers. The surfers hooked Dalton up with tons of new Billabong surf clothes and gear to take back home.
While Kids Wish Network is determined to fulfill the wishes of children facing life-threatening illnesses, their mission would not be obtainable without the help of such outstanding sponsors.

If you are flexible about what you want to drive and are looking for a great value, here is what I suggest.
Every day at Midway Car Rental, I send luxury and exotic specials to all of our rental offices. These are mostly due to last minute cancellations or sometimes even brand new vehicle purchases.
These specials are on premium cars and higher, not standard cars. Pricing is the lowest that I have available for that car, at that moment. They are reserved on a first come, first serve basis. Sometimes for these special deals you need to go to a local office to get that price, but it is certainly worth it for a super deal!
All you need to do is call the office directly 24 hours prior to your arrival or email me at betha@midwaycarrental.com and I can give you the specials for the following day. Sorry, but I do not have specials for the following month, just the next day.
What else can you do to get a great car at a great price? Be as flexible as possible!
If you will only drive a specific car in a certain color, that limits your options as to what is available and the price is not flexible. The more flexible you can be, the more flexible I can be.
Sunday pick up prices are often the lowest of the week, so call the rental office directly on Sunday for current availability.

The 2008 Ferrari F430 Spider, who we like to call “Salvatore”, is the newest edition to Midway Car Rental’s luxury rental fleet. Salvatore has a gorgeous black exterior and black interior with yellow leather stitching for a beautiful accent. Our Ferrari sports a 4.3-liter V8 engine that, Ferrari states, will take you from 0 to 60 in just 4 seconds. The Ferrari has F1 transmission with a 6-speed sequential gear box. Salvatore look great with his alloy wheels and Xenon headlights and feels great having fully independent front and rear suspensions.
This ultra-luxury vehicle has seating for two and is equipped with AM/FM radio with CD changer, Ipod connections and built-in navigation. Kenny Kerzner has been renting cars to Hollywood’s main players since 1969. He’s charming, fit and handsome, and at the tender age of 61, he looks more like a man in his early 40’s. Kenny and his team at Midway Car Rental rent their fleet of high-end luxury vehicles to some of Hollywood’s most famous characters. He provides discreet, personal services, and has been know to take calls and handle matters at 3 a.m. when “Jane Doe” is arriving by private plane and needs some wheels. We poked and prodded for details of any scandalous dirt but, being the consummate professional he is, Kenny would only divulge that when Notorious B.I.G. was gunned down in 1997, just outside of the Peterson Automotive Museum, Kenny had provided the car.
